Kirin is a mythical hooved chimerical creature known in the Japanese (and other East Asian) cultures, said to appear with the imminent arrival or passing of a sage or illustrious ruler – see Wikipedia for more enlightenment. Our friends at Philip Morris Japan selected this name for a new version of the Online DYO software project that we have been setting up for them. To make this project even more personal, a new feature was added to the design creation – a personalized icon. This new parameter that is now transported all the way from the mobile frontend editor onto the printed DYO package. We receive the data from the AWS Cloud via API and added meta data plus full image download data (first time a real file, former system handled meta data online in the renderer). All changes have been applied in time, running smoothly and successful. And honestly, we believe there is hardly a better name for a software release than Kirin!
